My father just returned his Toyota 4Runner and is on the lookout to rent something else. He already articulated that the previous SUV was a little taxing on his back and that it had way too much engine capacity for this part of the world… So he's looking for a 4 cylinder or a small 6, and it must be SUV given that he enjoys mountain biking, etc… plus this is the solitary roomy vehicle in the house, I borrowed his vehicle several times to move things around as I own a Toyota Prius and my partner a Scion Xa.
Nevertheless, the cost; it's unquestionably below US $28k after taxes & fees.
He did like the Mazda CX7, but it does not have adequate bite, the Turbo version has exceptional power and handles great, but for that much he opines he can do better.
He got a wonderful deal at Volkswagen for a Jetta SportWagen 2.5L 5 cylinders… but he is concerned with reliability as our Audi Q7 and VW Cabrio were regulalrly breaking down. I told him that through a 36-month contract he shouldn't face any tribulations (as opposed to driving the Jeep Wrangler like he did for over 6 years).
We also though about the recent Kia Sorento, a pretty darn enjoyable car, you could feel quality all over when you enter inside… He also suggested that he would have purchased the vehicle before now if it wasn't because the salesperson being such a douchebag… I think after taxes it reaches $28k or so, but he seems to be partial to the SUV very much.
He drove the Toyota FJ Cruiser (4 cylinders) and was of the opinion that it felt quite badly… I could not try out that one, nevertheless he does look to be convinced that his new SUV won't be a Toyota.
Any propositions? k to k or about there? The Nissan Rogue seems like a bad choice and consequently I asked him not to make an effort in going through that, besdies the Murano is too high-priced.
